Do you believe you're worth caring for?

Callie Brown on couch with laptop holding a pencil

Hi,

I caught myself smiling at my reflection the other day.

Not because I looked younger. Or leaner. Or because I’d suddenly become one of those women who loves every inch of herself.

It surprised me.

Because for a long time, my body felt like something to fix.

But this body has carried me through forty-five years.

Motherhood.

Heartbreak.

Joy.

Two pregnancies.

Late nights.

Early mornings.

And hormones with a mind of their own.

Lately, I’ve been trying something different.

I eat well because I want to feel supported.

I dance because I miss the version of me that comes alive when the music starts.

I lift weights because I want to feel strong for the life I’m still creating.

And some mornings, I simply say something kind to my reflection.

Not because I always believe it. Because I want that to become our relationship.

People often ask when motivation arrives.

I don’t think it does.

I think self-respect arrives first.

One small choice. Then another.

Not to prove your worth.

But because you’re beginning to believe you’re worth caring for.

A client recently came back to work with me.

Not because she didn’t know what to do. She knew.

She just couldn’t find a reason to do it for herself.

And I think so many of us know that feeling.

Maybe it isn’t a lack of discipline. Maybe it’s a lack of relationship.

You don’t build a new life with one giant decision.

You build it in the small, loving choices that slowly teach you, “I matter, too.”

Maybe becoming isn’t about finding a new version of yourself.

Maybe it’s about becoming a safer place for the one who’s been here all along.

Big love,
