I’ve never really done life the way you’re supposed to. Not in a rebellious, anti-establishment way. Not to make a point. Not to go against the grain for the sake of it. It’s just always been in my nature to meet the phase of life I’m in and respond to it honestly. And only afterwards realise, “Oh… this isn’t the normal way people do this.” How interesting. I feel this most in midlife.

So many of us are walking around doing a great job… while quietly feeling a bit foggy. A bit disconnected. A bit lonely in ways that don’t make sense on paper. Not because anything’s wrong. But because there’s nowhere to put the unsaid stuff. The thoughts that loop. The feelings that don’t need fixing. The parts of you that just want to be heard — all the way through.

It’s 2026, here we are! A new year. This time of year always gets me in all the reflective feels, know what I mean? Not in a big, spiritual, sit-on-a-mountain kind of way. More in a very ordinary, sitting-on-the-couch-with-my-kids kind of way.
